James Sheen Sr. has no gravestone. He died of exhaustion 2 days after reaching the valley and was hurridly buried when the family reached Kayscreek (Kaysville). The were exceedingly poor for many years, struggling to
care for their basic needs.
James was a son of Elizabeth Taynton and Joseph Sheen II of Berrow, Worcestershire, England.
He married Maria Loveridge, 1 Nov 1820, at Berrow, Worcestershire, England. She died the day the family left Coralville, outside Iowa City, Johnson, Iowa.
