ERMA EILEEN BURGETZ nee (Zehr) December 9, 1931 - February 2, 2006 Passed away peacefully, at St. Mary's Hospital, on Thursday, February 2, 2006, in her 75th year. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Edna (Schweitzer) Zehr. Loving wife of Ken Burgetz for 51 years. Mother of Judy (Bob) Shantz, Linda Grimmer, Paul (Joy) Burgetz and Sandra Burgetz. Grandmother to Andrea Shantz (Nick Martin), Lindsay and Daniel Shantz, Becky and Matthew Grimmer and friend Meaghen, Tabitha and Amber Burgetz and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Shirley (Oliver) Kropf, Loreen (Lloyd) Ropp and Anna Mae (Ken) Hofstetter, brothers-in-law Reg (Velma) Burgetz and Harold Burgetz and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents-in-law John and Lucinda (Buehler) Burgetz and sisters-in-law Alice and Margaret Burgetz. Born and raised on a farm in Poole, she came to Kitchener and worked at J.M. Schneiders for several years when she left to raise her family and to babysit other children. She returned to work in her later years at Mutual Life until her retirement. Erma was a longtime member of Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church and active member of the WMA women's group. Friends are invited to share their memories of Erma with her family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, tonight (Saturday) from 7-9 p.m., Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and Monday, at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. The funeral service in celebration of Erma's life will be held at Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church on Monday, February 6, 2006 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Peters Unrau and Rev. Marilyn Rudy-Froese officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to the church hall for refreshments and a time to visit with the family following the committal service. Thanks to the 5th floor doctors and nurses at St. Mary's Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee or Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church and can be arranged through the funeral home. Condolences & Donations 745-8445
