San Bernardino County
California, USA
Death: Dec. 28, 2010
Siloam Springs

Arkansas, USA

Lavona Marlene was the precious daughter of Calvin Ford and Minnie Morris Ford.

Marlene was the sweet granddaughter of Charles William Morris and Grace Emaline Hensley Morris.

Marlene was the beloved wife of Otis "Bill" Evans. Marlene and Bill were blessed with a son and daughter: Rusty Evans and wife Sandy of Highfill, Arkansas. Melissa Evans Smith and husband Ronny of Moseley, Oklahoma. Four grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

One sister, Gaylene Ford (Hardin) and husband Gerald of Garfield, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by one sister: Mavene and one brother: Calvin "C.J".

She lived in the Elm Springs and Highfill area for the past 52 years.

Marlene was a member of the Charter 359 of Gentry Eastern Star. She retired from the Gentry Schools after 27 years of working in food service.

Marlene was a "Cowgirl"...and love being a cowgirl, she love riding horses and was a member of the Elm Springs Riding Club, she was "Rodeo Queen" one year. She love telling me about her cowgirl days and I love hearing about them just as much. She was sweet, soft spoken and pretty as she could be, and enjoyed the truly simple things in life. We always had fun the times we spent together...having a hot cup of coffee or an ice cold coca-cola, I was so very proud to call her my cousin. She has left a huge void in the lives of all those who knew Marlene and Loved her.

She was a member of the Mason Valley Baptist Church.

The beauty of a Cowgirl
Is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
Or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a cowgirl must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a cowgirl is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a cowgirl,
Is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows,
And the beauty of a cowgirl with passing years-only grows.
