Willene Hansford Simpson, 76, Hawkins Avenue, Somerset, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at her residence.

A Pulaski County native, she was born August 8, 1929, daughter of the late John and Roxie Buchanan Hansford. She was a telephone operator for GTE for 30 years, until retirement, and a member of First Baptist Church in Somerset.

She is survived by two brothers, Carl (and Glenda) Hansford and Robert (and Marie) Hansford, both of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Vela Sewell, Dayton, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Rudolph Simpson, whom she married Jan. 24, 1953, in Pulaski County, and who died July 4, 2000; her parents; three brothers, Charlie and Clyde Hansford, and a twin brother, Willard Hansford, who died in infancy; and three sisters, Eula Renner, Marie Vaught and Zelma Wright.
