She graduated from the University of Georgia high school in 1943. Helen was very personable and enjoyed reading and babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church and lived in Chestnut Mountain with her husband, Grady B. Allison, after their marriage in 1944. Helen was very family-oriented and loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; seven siblings; and a grandson David Richerzhagen.
Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Lyle Letteer of Locust Grove; daughter, Marie Richerzhagen of Ellenwood; a granddaughter and her husband, Sandra and Albin List of Gainesville; three great-granddaughters, Stephanie, Brittany and Madeline List of Gainesville; sisters-in-law, Bessie and Stella Allison of Chestnut Mountain, Inez Allison of Oakwood, Irene Allison of Gainesville, Laura Bates of Doraville and Lottie Mae Kerns of Newport News, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home, 355 Dawsonville Hwy, Gainesville, Ga.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at 4 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home, 355 Dawsonville Hwy, Gainesville, Ga.
Interment will be in the Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church cemetery.
