Dawson C. "Curley" Adams, 66, of Dawson Street in Columbus died at 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 1998, at his home. He was employed by Cosco in Columbus for several years and retired from the fuel injection line at Cummins Engine Co. He was a member of Lowell General Baptist Church in Bartholomew County.

Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Baldwin Cemetery at Vernon.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Mr. Adams was born in Columbia, Ky., May 14, 1932, the son of LuVeney McQuary Adams of Columbus and the late Coleigny Adams. He married Shirley Hartwell June 20, 1953, in Jennings County. She survives.

Also surviving are sons, Dennis and Tim Adams, both of Columbus; daughters, Debbie Weekly of Franklin and Loretta Henderson of Columbus; brothers, Charles Adams of Hartford City, Chet Adams of Indianapolis and Donald Adams of North Vernon; a sister, Carol Bowling of Columbus; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Delmar Adams; and sisters, Ocal Adams and Delta Fields.

Funeral for Dawson C. Adams, 66, of Columbus was conducted Friday at Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating. Bonita Welch was organist. Special music was by Anna England and Buel Fields.

Burial was at Baldwin Cemetery near Vernon. Pallbearers were Mike and Timothy Adams, Mickey Brown, Art Fields, Robert Hartwell and Tom Sanders.
