Noted Criminal Defense and Entertainment Attorney. Well known across the country for representing celebrity singers such as Bobby Brown, T.I., and twins Derrell and Terrell Brittenum, the 2006 American Idol standout contestants who were booted off of the show when details of their arrest warrants were made public. Formerly of Benson, North Carolina, he resided in the Atlanta, Georgia area for the last fifteen years. An alum of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Bennett graduated from the Emory School of Law in 1996. Following graduation he served as a prosecutor for the DeKalb County Solicitor General's office. He then started his own criminal defense and entertainment practice, and also served in an "of counsel" capacity at Magarahan, Villines and Honis. A member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, he loved to entertain and was known for his lavish Christmas parties. He was also a member of the DeKalb Bar Association, the DeKalb Lawyers Association, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. He died in an Atlanta area hospital as a result of complications from a long illness.
