He was born Dec. 9, 1935, in Tecumseh to John and Ella (Kellett) Bratka. He moved with his family to Valley at the age of 7. He was a graduate of Valley High School and served in the U.S. Army. He then attended and graduated from the Radio Engineering Institute in Omaha. He was employed at AT&T Microwave Tower in North Bend until retiring July 1, 1990.
He married Jean Hecht on Sept. 1, 1973, in North Bend.
He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Bend and the Late Great Chevy Club. Survivors include: his wife, Jean Bratka and two brothers, Gaylen (and wife, Linda) Bratka of Omaha and Marvin (and wife, DeAnn) Bratka of Beaver Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Chuck Bratka.
