Mrs. Olive Neida McQuaig, 82, died Sunday Morning (December 31,2000)at the Baptist Village Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley McQuaig, and parents, Lemuel Westberry and Gussie Bryant Westberry. A lifelong resident of Waycross, she retired from Churchwell's Department Store as a saleslady and was a member of the Hebardville Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Frances Johnson and her husband, Buck, of Waycross; a sister, Jewell Danforth of Jacksonville, Fla; a brother, Doyle Westberry, of Nicholls; a granddaughter, Marsha Thomas, and her husband Jim of Waycross; a great-granddaughter, Jamie Thomas of Waycross and several nieces and nephews and other relatives. Funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends this afternoon from 4 to 7 o'clock at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Miles-Odum Funeral Home.Olive also had a brother named Treemon who died 2 days prior to her own death (December 29, 2000).
