Dorothy Lewis Andrews obituary

On February 28, 2016, in Springfield, VA at age 98. Daughter of the late Lawrence E. Lewis and Agnes McNulty Lewis. Beloved wife of 62 years of the late Harold H. Andrews; loving mother of Vicki A. Razick and Sally A. Gudas; devoted sister of Nancy VanHorn and Gregory Lewis; loving grandmother of Skylar Gudasz and Jason Gudasz; beloved mother-in-law of Ramsey Razick and Stephen Gudas; dear sister-in-law of Elaine Thomas and Ginger Lewis; companion to her dear cocker spaniel Rosie.

A native Washingtonian, Mrs. Andrews attended George Washington University and was employed as a secretary with the US Department of Defense for 23 years. During WWII, she volunteered on the home front with the USO and air raid precaution efforts. A loving wife and mother, she volunteered in countless activities in support of her children and community, was active in the Annandale Lioness Club, enjoyed her bridge group, and loved her exercise class friends. She could often be found singing and dancing and was happiest when listening to 1940s standards. She inspired all she knew with her vibrant personality, zest for life, and hilarious comments.

A private graveside service was held on March 1st at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD. A celebration of her life will be held on April 9th. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Fairfax (www.hsfc.org) or Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (www.themmrf.org).
