I have a transcript of a letter that says he was buried in the garden on the Dancy Plantation in St Mary Parish. He died during the civil war of an unspecified disease while assigned to care for two other sick soldiers there. He served in the 19th Louisiana Infantry and the 2nd Louisiana Cavalry in the Civil War. Daniel was born in Alabama on June 9, 1828 and died Jan 28, 1863. I haven't been able to locate a marker for him yet.
