John F. Conn, Lieutenant Colonel retired from the United States Air Force after 27 years of service. John began his military career with the Army Air Corps as pilot/commander of the B-29 Superfortress, "Nina Ross" of the 500th Bomb Group, 881st Squadron assigned to Saigon.
For his extraordinary achievement and gallantry while flying historical bombing missions over the homeland of Japan, Colonel Conn was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with two oak-leaf clusters, the Air Medal with four oak-leaf clusters and the Purple Heart. After the war Colonel Conn became a helicopter test pilot.
During his distinguished military career, he also was the recipient of twenty-six other citations of honor, including the Presidential Unit Citation.
