William Enyeart was likely born in Middlesex Co., New Jersey.

He is thought to be the son of David Enyeart and his wife Elizabeth.

William married Catherine Shell in September of 1772.

William and Catherine was the parents of five children: John, Mary (Polly), William Jr, Elizabeth and David. March 20th 1788, Catherine and the twin daughters she was carrying all died during childbirth.

William married 2nd to Jane Norris on September 6, 1788 in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.

William and Jane had 16 children: James, Joseph, Silas, Thomas, Catherine, Benjamin, Jane, Rachel, Levi, Nancy, Martha, Sarah, Rebecca, Margaret, Abraham and Eleanor.

William was a blacksmith and a farmer. He also served in the Revolutionary War with the 4th Company , 3rd Battalion of Bedford County Militia. 10 Dec 1777 Ensign 4th Co, 3rd Battalion Bedford Co.23 May 1778 commissioned 2nd Lt same Battalion.1778-1783 Rangers of the Frontier received pay for services.

BURIAL: Yocums Cemetery, Raystown Branch, Huntingdon Co. Pennsylvania, along with William, however, both their remains were removed to the Reformed Cemetery in Marklesburg, PA.
