Rites Planned Today for Man Lost in Boat
SCIO -- Funeral services for John E. Clark, whose body was found Saturday, will be held here Sunday (June 7 1959) in conjunction with memorial services previously scheduled for him and his older brother Kenneth of Albany. The two men were lost in a fishing accident May 30 on the Pacific Ocean at Newport. The body of Kenneth Clark, 50, has not been found. The service will be at 2 p.m. in Scio Assembly of God Church, Rev. W. E. Scott officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery, Foster. John Clark was born Jan. 7, 1914, at Foster. He was a veteran of World War I. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Bonnie Clark, and seven children under the age of 13: Tony Dale, Johnny Lee. Mary Ella, Manuel William, Charlene Gail, Ronald Dwain, Sharon Ann, all at home; mother, Mrs. Mary Ellen Fales, Bend; one brother. Nelson Clark, Albany; nine sisters, Mrs. Mabel Conway, Idaho; Miss Hilda Clark, Eugene; Miss Nancy Clark, Salem; Mrs. Christina Borges, California; Mrs. Lorraine Jales, Bend; Mrs. Elsie Urbach, Culver; Mrs. Louise Verley. Scio; Mrs. Nadine Osenton, Bend; Mrs. Ethel Rowell. Lebanon. Wedel mortuary, Stayton, is in charge.

Scio Man's Body Found on Coast, Vanished May 30
NEWPORT, OREGON (AP) -- the body of John Clark, 45, Scio, who vanished May 30 on a fishing trip into the Pacific Ocean, was recovered near here Friday, the Coast Guard said Saturday. Clark and his brother, Kenneth, 50, Albany, Ore., disappeared after setting out in a 15-foot boat to fish off this coastal resort. The wreckage of the boat later washed up on the beach. No trace of Kenneth has been found. Funeral Services for John Clark will be held at Scio Sunday.
