Roy married Izora Morehead who was born January 23, 1896 in Texas, daughter of Zachariah 'Zack' Morehead (1871-1937) and Victoria King (1869-1912).

John died December 21, 1935 in Oklahoma and was buried in the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County). Zora died September 11, 1971 in Oklahoma and was buried in Highland Cemetery beside her husband.
