Her brothers and sisters were Gordon Lee Nelson, Billy Andrew Nelson, Wynona Suzanne Nelson Thomas, Hazel Ruth Nelson Davis, Joe "Little Brother" Evert Nelson, Anita "Frankie" Frances Nelson Webster, and Charles "Bud" H. Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings; her first and second hubands; and her youngest son Bobby Gene Draper.
Norma first married Herbert Lee "Buster" Draper in 1948. Together they had four children; Jimmie Dale Draper Flukinger, Gordon Lee Draper, Joanne Draper Honeycutt and Bobby Gene Draper. After Uncle Buster passed away in 1957, Norma married Melvin Ashley in Conroe, Texas in 1966.
Norma was my (Carolyn Thomas Sorensen) aunt.

Funeral services for Norma Faye Ashley will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Funeral Home in Hugo, OK with Rev. Burgie Thompson officiating and burial following in the Sawyer Cemetery. Norma passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012, at her home in Sawyer, Oklahoma, at the age of 81.
Norma Faye Ashley was born November 2, 1930, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Clarence and Ethel (Heady) Nelson. She had lived in this area for a number of years and was a homemaker. Norma married Melvin R. Ashley on August 26, 1966, in Conroe TX. She loved riding horses, planting flowers and shopping at the malls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin R. Ashley in 2004; one son, Bobby Gene Draper in 1996; three brothers; and three sisters.
Norma is survived by one son, Gordon Lee Draper and wife, Christene of Ft. Towson, OK; two daughters, Jimmie Dale Flukinger of Houston, TX and JoAnn Honeycutt of Sawyer, OK; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 23, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Mt. Olive Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK.
