Mary Carmen "Frenchie" Rally married Ernest "Ernie" J. McGoran on Apr 11, 1938 in North Vancouver, B. C., Canada.

Obituary of Carmen McGoran

"The funeral will be held April 30 for Carmen Mary McGoran of Eugene, who died April 23 of cancer. She was 90.

She was born June 9, 1914, in Kamloops, B.C., to Charles and Marie Louvel Rally. She married Ernest "Mac" "Fizzy Bear" McGoran on April 11, 1939, in North Vancouver, B.C. He died in December 1985.

She held a bachelors degree in French from the University of British Columbia. She taught high school French in Merritt, B.C., elementary school in Klamath Falls and worked as a sales clerk for both the Anita Shop and Nobby Shop in Eugene.

She enjoyed baking cookies, pies and elegant food, writing letters and, beginning a few years ago, e-mailing. She entered many contests and won a Pillsbury Bake-off award for a cake recipe. Her family remembers her generosity with homemade pies and cookies as well as "her special gift of concern, care and love that she extended to others."

She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Ernie of Spokane, and Joe of Auburn, Wash.; a daughter, Anita Wright of Loomis, Calif.; a brother, Charles Rally of Vancouver, B.C.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Saturday's service will be at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Eugene, with burial to follow at the cemetery. A reception will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Eugene. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2350 Oakmont Way, Suite 200, Eugene, OR 97401."
