Visitation for Lloyd F. Gittel, 75, will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d'Alene. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Gittel, who was born in Blue Grass, N.D., died Tuesday.
He moved to Coeur d'Alene with his family in 1935 and graduated from high school there in 1947.
Mr. Gittel served with the Army from 1950 to 1952 and was stationed in Korea.
He then began a career with the railroads as a telegrapher and retired from Union Pacific after 40 years as an engineer.
Mr. Gittel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Coeur d'Alene.
Survivors include two brothers, Del and Elton Gittel, both of Coeur d'Alene; and several nieces and nephews.
