James Earle Hill was born February 22, 1913, in Temple, Texas to James Johnson Hill and Alice Irene (Garmany) Hill. His siblings were: B. D. Hill, William Watson Hill, Leonard Lovelle Hill, Joe Wilson Hill, Flay Downs Hill, Wayland Burroughs Hill, Stanley Hill, Alice Virginia Hill and Johnson Glynn Hill. On December 10, 1937 he married Johnnie Mae Smith in Temple, Texas. They were the parents of two sons, James Earle Hill, Jr. and Johnny Flay Hill. Earle was the owner of Earle Hill Auto Sales of Giddings. He died August 21, 1975 in Temple. Funeral services were held at the Giddings Church of Christ.
