Springfield was in Essex Co. NJ. Today it is in Union Co., NJ. Joseph Lamb never resided in Burlington Co., NJ. He did not marry in and none of his children were born in Burlington Co., NJ.
Original records located to date, contain no indication of Joseph Lamb's having had a middle name or middle initial.

Information regarding Joseph Lamb, Ruth Scudder, and their family is included in a Scudder Bible record owned by Mrs. Dorothy J. Elser. It identifies Joseph Lamb as a son of John Lamb (no date of birth) and Mary Lamb b 21 Feb. 1833; and it states that John Lamb was a son of Mr. Lamb, minister at Basking Ridge. Rev. Joseph Lamb was minister in the church at Basking Ridge, NJ. This establishes Joseph Lamb 1756-1828 as a son of John David Lamb 1729-1784 and Mary Thompson 1732/33-1791; and grandson of Rev. Joseph Lamb 1690-1749 and Patience Horton ca1694-1729.

4 Mar. 1846, Butler Co., OH, affidavit by Hannah Baker, widow of Daniel Baker; they were married on 1 Dec. 1779, by pastor of Presbyterian Congregation of Springfield; subsequent to marriage she prepared cloathing (sic) for him to go into service. A flat black granite marker with SAR Insignia In Pioneer Cemetery / Lebanon Pioneer Cemetery was dedicated on 24 Apr. 2016, containing names of American Revolution patriots. Joseph Lamb is listed as a Patriot, buried in the Baptist Cemetery portion of Pioneer Cemetery.
