Phyllis Marie Bowser, 85, of Main Street, Rimersburg, died at her home
following an illness.
Born Feb. 14, 1922, in Toby Township, Clarion County, she was the
daughter of Herbert and Nellie Shields Bowser.
She was a 1941 graduate of Rimersburg High School.
During World War 11, Miss Bowser worked as a secretary at Wright Field
in Dayton, Ohio.
Miss Bowser was a member of the Rimersburg United Methodist Church.
She graduated from Butler Business College and then lived in
Pittsburgh where she was employed for 381/2 years at Pittsburgh
Plumbing & Heating Co. Following retirement, she moved back to
Miss Bowser was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club
and was a past president of the Mount Lebanon Club.
Surviving are one niece, Martha McGinley, and one nephew, George
Bonnett; two cousins, Glenn Conner of Kissinger Mills and Robert
Donaldson of Emlenton; and her caregivers, Alex and Carol MacKinlay of
Miss Bowser was preceded in death by her father in February1974; her
mother in December 1985; and two sisters, Zona Voltz, March 17, 1991,
and Dorothy Lucille Bonnett, Oct. 26, 2003.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Monday in the
Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Rimersburg.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home
with the Rev. Randy Evans, Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice chaplain,
Private interment will take place in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
