Born Sept. 2, 1917, daughter of the late John and Helen Molnar Burzon, she was educated at both Olyphant and Dickson City high schools. She resided in Scranton for most of her life. Before retirement, she was employed in the local garment industry and was last employed by Angelo Bonacce. She was a member of the ILGWU. She was also a lifelong New York Yankees fan. Helen was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral and its Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Kuchinski, Harrisburg; and Paula and husband, Jim Eshelman, Scranton; two sons, P. Barry McAndrew and wife, Elaine, Erie; and Jon Howell and wife, Susan Shepard-Howell, Laguna Niguel, Calif.; a sister, Irma Metzger and husband, Charles, Toms River, N.J.; six grandchildren, Todd Eshelman and Scott Eshelman, both of Scranton; Marc McAndrew, Cranberry Twp.; Brian McAndrew, Waterford; John and Kelly Kuchinski, Harrisburg; six great-grandchildren, Jacob and Rachel McAndrew, Cranberry Twp.; Collin and Lauren McAndrew, Waterford; Nicole Kuchinski and Jaylen Stazewski, Harrisburg; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Frank Burzon; three sisters, Elizabeth Toth, Priscilla Mann and Regina Burzon; and a son-in-law, John G. Kuchinski.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Ave., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, 3 to 6 p.m.
