He had worked for Armco Steel Company for 38 years from 1944 until he retired in 1982. He was married to June L. (Adams) on June 14, 1946, together they had one son, Mike Carver. Surviors : Mrs. Carver, Mike and his wife Sheila of Blue Springs, MO; 2 grandchildren, Dan Carver of Blue Springs, MO and Trisha Guffey and her husband Bobby of Kansas City, MO; great grandson, Gage "Cowboy Guffey; a sister Betty Penland of Crocker, MO and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Bill (Eva) Carver of Independence, MO. Junior's favorite parting words were "Glad you got to see me".

His brother-in-law Bob Adams and younger brothers [William & Charles] are buried in Oak Ridge.
