The following obituary was Published inThe Beaver County News (Milford, Utah) Thursday (July 25, 1940) on Page 1 in Column 5

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Walker Crawford, 61, wife of Charles R. Crawford and for many years a highly respected resident of Milford. Mrs. Crawford had died the preceding Thursday following a major operation for complicated troubles.

The services were held in the local LDS chapel with Bishop Alvin H. Baker in charge. By special request of the deceased, former Bishop William A. Miller, now a resident of Beaver and a lifelong friend of the family, was the only speaker, but he spoke glowingly of Mrs. Crawford as an exemplary wife, mother, and citizen and urged that the family take comfort in this knowledge.

The opening prayer was offered by Reuben Jones and the benediction by Bishop Baker, while the grave dedicatory prayer was offered by Ivan Frost of Greenville. Burial took place in the local cemetery under the direction of the Southern Utah Mortuary.

Musical numbers included two quartet numbers by Mrs. J. M. Hughes, Mrs. George Moore, Mrs. Vance Fisher and Doris Hughes; and a vocal solo by Miles Walker of Cedar City.

Mrs. Crawford was born in Adamsville, March 30, 1879, a daughter of H.S. and Esther Jones Walker. She was married to Charles R. Crawford September 29, 1897.

She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Crawford of Milford, and seven sons and daughters, Harold W., Charles R. jr., and Stanley J. Crawford, and Mres. Catherine White of Caliente, Nevada; Mrs. Ida Moyer of Ely, Nevada, and Rayfield and Esther Crawford of Milford.
