Terrell Tribune, April 28, 1939 - J. J. Ellis, 91, father of T. L. Ellis died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. N. Moon in Mesquite Thursday. Burial in Dry Creek Cemetery. He is survived by three children, T. L. Ellis of Terrell, Mrs. T. N. Moon of Mesquite and Mrs. H. E. Pilcher of Oregon. He was born in Georgia February 28, 1849, but had lived in Texas for the past 57 years. He formerly lived near Poetry.
