MRS. CLARENCE CALHOUN DIES
Mrs. Mina Snell Calhoun, 81, wife of Clarence M. Calhoun, Bradley Apartments, 164 Arsenal Street, died at 12:55 this morning in the Mercy hospital, where she had been a patient since Thursday. Death was attributed chiefly to infirmities of old age.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Arthur D. (Edna) Wilcox, 803 Morrison Street. Rev. Don R. Boyd, pastor of the Asbury Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be made in the Calcium cemetery.
Surviving Mrs. Calhoun, besides her husband, are two children, Eugene E. Calhoun, 516 Bradley Street, and Mrs. Wilcox, and nephews, nieces and grand children.
Mrs. Calhoun had been ill about three years, during which period she had been a patient in the hospital on a number of occasions.
She was born in the town of Alexandria April 13, 1874 a daughter of the late Frederick and Martha Klock Snell. She was married to Clarence M. Calhoun of Wellesley Island Nov. 24, 1897, in the LaFargeville Methodist Church.
Mr. & Mrs. Calhoun lived for years on farms in the towns of Orleans, Alexandria and Theresa. For 16 years they resided at Thousand Island Park, where Mr. Calhoun, a lake & river captain, operated a fleet of pleasure boats.
They came to Watertown about 20 years ago and since then resided here. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary last November.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence M. Calhoun will observe their 57th wedding anniversary Wednesday at their home, 824 Morrison street. Both are 80 years old.
Mrs. Calhoun the former Miss Mina Snell, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Snell was married to Mr. Calhoun, son of the late Almerian Snell, Nov. 24, 1897, in the parsonage of the LaFargeville, Methodist church. The late Rev. J. F. Bennett Rumham, then pastor officiated.
The couple lived in Watertown since their retirement from farming 16 years ago. They farmed in the LaFargeville section, their last farm being near Perch Lake.
Mr.and Mrs. Calhoun have a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Edna) Wilcox, and son Eugene Calhoun, both of Watertown, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
