Obituary Idaho State Journal, pg. 2, 5/18/1972: Kellogg - Funeral services May 12 for Virgil Bebb, 52, found dead May 10 on an upper level Sunshine Silver Mine. He was a shift foreman who alerted 18 men out with two trips back into the mine. On his third attempt in, he was overtaken by the toxic conditions and died. He was found dead with his son-in-law. He worked at least 30 years in the Sunshine Mine.
Virgil lived in Kellogg, Shoshone County, Idaho. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; three children, Dolores and Bobby of Sacramento, Calif., and Frankie of Kellogg; his mother Faye Bebb Meyers; two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Vickie Schultz, Mrs. W. R. (Joy) Cook, and Edwin, all of Pocatello, Idaho, and two grandchildren. His father, H.C. Bebb passed away eleven years before him.
The double funeral held in Kellogg for Bebb and his son-in-law with a Methodist pastor (as Virgil was affiliated with the Methodist Church) and an LDS bishop officiating for his son-in-law.
