Coach Robert L. Moberly, Sr., age 73, of Elberta, AL., passed away Friday evening July 1, 2005 at his residence.
He was born October 10, 1931 in Pensacola, and was a lifelong resident of this area.
Coach Moberly was preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Col. Lee and Catherine Hogan Moberly; son, Lt. Robert Lee Moberly, Jr.; sister, Mary Alice May.
Coach Moberly taught for 35 years with the Escambia County School System, and had been a Coach at Escambia High School, and Brentwood Middle School.
He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Coach Moberly is survived by his wife, Kathryn Moberly of Elberta, AL; 2 daughters, Patricia (Charles) Ellis of Daphne, AL, Kari (Mark) Basch of Pensacola; 2 sons, Chip Moberly of Atlanta, GA, Michael (Stephanie) Moberly of Pensacola; daughter in law, Patricia J. Moberly; sister, Catherine Adair of New Port Ritchey, FL; 2 brothers, John A. Moberly of Pensacola, Lee Moberly of Nevada; and six grandchildren:, A.J. Cox, Katie Cox, Rebecca Moberly, Ryan Moberly, Brandon Moberly, and Hannah Ellis.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Fa. George officiating. Burial will follow in the Barrancas National Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Wednesday evening, July 6, 2005 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Asked to serve as Pallbearers are Charles Ellis, Mark Basch, and A.J. Cox.
For those who desire, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Foundation.
