After 6 long years, many hours of searching, long, restless nights and a flood of tears, we can say we finally have closure and can lay our Shannon to rest.
Shannon Boyd Ebert was born August 13, 1970 to Patrick Sr and Carol Jo (Roberston) Ebert in Owensboro, Kentucky. He leaves behind many who loved him including 3 children. He is survived by his wife, Lynsey (Dixon) Ebert of Lewistown, IL., daughters Mattison & Alex Ebert of Lewistown, IL., son, Treyton Sodowsky of Blackwell,OK., father and stepmother Patrick and Laura Ebert of Lewistown, IL., brother Patrick (Stacy)Ebert Jr of Blackwell, sister Jade Ebert (Jimmy) of Springfield, IL., paternal grandfather Lester Ebert of Blackwell, nephew Cayden, niece Tabitha and many aunt/uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Ebert, paternal grandmother Wanita Ebert, and maternal grandparents George and Helen Gates.
Shannon was a missing person, last seen on April 24, 2007 in Blackwell, Oklahoma. His body was discovered on August 24, 2007 and identified on July 24,2013. Shannon will be brought home and laid to rest with his mother, Carol, in Havana, Illinois . Shannon was a true blessing to all who knew him. His wonderful smile and great personality made him who he was."He went away without farewell, he said goodbye to none but Heaven's gate was open wide and a loving voice said "come"."
A celebration of life will be held at Hurleys funeral home Il at 11 am graveside service at Laurel Hill , there will be a dinner following at VFW in Havana .
