Judi was a nurse for many years in Colorado. She dearly loved to read and travel. She will be missed by her brother and sister and their families.

Judith Ann Christensen 1940 -2012

Judith Ann Ertel was born July 13, 1940, in Newark, NJ, the daughter of William and Rosalyn (Mitschke) Ertel.
Judi was raised and attended school in Point Pleasant NJ following high school she attended Ocean County Community College in Silverton,NJ where she obtained her RN degree. Judi moved to Colorado in the early 1970s and worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. She lated moved to Steamboat Springs and then Craig, where she was employed at the Memorial Hospital for more than 30 years, retiring in 2004.
Judi married Tim Christensen Dec 14. 2004, in Craig. Judi enjoyed traveling with Tim and did so whenever they were able. She was a longtime supporter of the Special Olympics Program and SPCA. She also loved to scuba dive and deep sea fish. Her greatest love was reading.

Judi died Monday, May 21, 2012, at her home. She was 71.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Christensen, of Craig; sons Shawn West of Craig, George West of Queens, NY and Kelly West, of Point Pleasant, NJ. Grandchildren Sara Schonert, Alyson West, and Shawn Robert West II; great grandchildred Raelynn, Scarlet and Kaitlin Schonert, and Felicity Otis. Judi is also survived by her brother, William J Ertel,(Marcia) of Toms River, NJ and their two sons, and sister, Jacquelyne (Harold) Kilgore of Smithville Tennessee and thier son.

Judi also had stepchildren: Becky Christensen, of Vail, T.J. Christensen of Arvada, Earl (Ellie) Christensen, of Boulder, and Elizabeth Morris, of Montrose; and step-grandchildren Caleb Christensen, Brian, Gary, Makayla Otis, Ananda, Eryk and Annie Morris.

Mass of Christian burial was Friday, May 25, 2012, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Craig with Father James Fox officiating. Interment followed in Craig Cemetery.
