Dr. Lake Brewer was graduated from the Ridgeway public schools in 1899 as valedictorian of her class. The same fall saw her entrance into the University of Missouri, from which she was graduated with her A. B. degree in 1903, and at the same time received a life certificate to teach.
She continued her work in the medical department of the university, and during her junior year was assistant in the department of physiology. Dr. Brewer finished her medical course and was given the degree of M. D. in 1908. Dr. Brewer returned to her native village, and opened an office for practice in the fall of 1908.
She was a member of the County Medical Society and American Medical Association.
