While working in the local drug store, she met her future husband, Jack Attaway, who landed his plane on the high school football field to pick her up for dates.
On March 1, 1948, they were married. Due to his work in the oil fields, from Texas to Montana, she traveled extensively and then came to Casper, where she lived for the last 50 years.
Mrs. Attaway was involved in the Wyoming State PTA, in which she was actively a part of the throat swab and summer movie programs.
Her greatest joys were here children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and of the Casper congregation for 50 years.
An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, Mrs. Attaway's hobbies included reading, tole painting, crafts, and watching soap operas and Rachel Ray's cooking show.
Survivors include two daughters, Jackie (Jack) Watters and Ellen Attaway, both of Casper; three sons, Phillip (Margaret) Attaway of Wasilla, Alaska, and Alan Attaway and Tim (Kim) Attaway, both of Casper; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Genevieve Kerr of Sundan, Texas, Mable Wages of Earth, Texas, Ruby Gipson of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Ada Greer of Casper; and one brother, Jim Wilkinson of Proctor, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Opia, Wayne, Floyd and Lloyd.
