RED CREEK – Mrs. Emma C. Axtell, 74, died at her home in Martville Sunday evening after a long illness (kidney disease). She was a member and past noble grand of Magdalene Rebekah Lodge 155 of North Victory and a charter member of the Eastern Star Chapter at Manawa, Wis. She was also a member of Martville Methodist church. On March 1, 1952 Mr. and Mrs. Axtell celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.
Surviving besides her husband, Ernest Axtell of Martville are two daughters, Mrs. Minard Peacock of Pulaski and Mrs. George Hudson of Martville; one son Samuel E. Axtell of Martville; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers George Terrio of Coquille, Oregon and Frank Terrio of Marshfield, Wisconsin. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Martville Methodist. Burial will take place at Martville cemetery. Rev. John White, pastor of Martville church will officiate. Rebekah services under the auspices of North Victory Lodge will be held at the grave. Friends are invited to call at the family home in Martville Tuesday afternoon and evening.
