Lucile S. Koch, 89, of Grand Island died Friday, July 27, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center, with her family at her side.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph K. Joseph will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Mrs. Koch was born May 11, 1923, at Holstein to Theodore and Anna (Goedert) Loskill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, on Sept. 7, 1981.
Survivors of her immediate family include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Lois and Don Urbanski of Grand Island, Pam Woodward of Grand Island, Barb and Harold Green III of Grand Island, and Terri and Rob Shook of Sidney, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Darlene Tocchio of Drayton, N.D.
Lucile grew up and received her education in Holstein, graduating from Holstein High School in 1940. She married Wayne Koch on Oct. 22, 1946, at Roseland. They lived in Grand Island and Lucile was employed with Skagway as a receiving clerk. She retired in 1989 after 40 years of service to care for her mother, Anna.
Lucile enjoys spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed dancing, playing cards and the company of her pet Bichon, Dollie.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband, Lucile was preceded in death by her brother, Harold; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Koch; and brother-in-law, Joe Tocchio.
