The son of Hersh and Rachel Davidson, born in Russia (possibly the Pale of Settlement) anytime during the period from 1790 to 1795, Isaac Davidson was born about 1817, although in the 1910 US Census he is listed as being 95 years old. He came to America sometime after the Civil War, possibly in 1865 or 1866. He settled in Providence, Rhode Island, with his wife Dora, of whom nothing is known. Isaac lived in Providence until his death on 5 July 1912 at the age of 95. His grave marker lists his date of death; there is no birth date except from other documents. We have no current idea of when Isaac came to America. We tried to find his wife, Dora, in every Jewish cemetery in Warwick and Providence with no information found. We will continue to look, and update this site with that information.

Isaac was the father of Simon Davidson (1853-1923), and Joseph Davidson (1861-1903), and he may have been the father of Edward Davidson, also of Newport.

Isaac Davidson is my great-great-great grandfather. May he always rest in peace, two centuries after his birth and one century since his death.
