Aunt Melba, as I called her, was such a loving, joyful and peaceable person. She was the daughter of the late Riley Smith and Sarah Smith and had two sisters and three brothers. My grandfather the late Herbert Lemuel Corry was her 1st cousin and she knew him and attended his funeral in 1924. What a blessing from God to have her around to share stories about him with me. Aunt Melba was married for seventy-two years to the late Green Adams until his passing in the year 2000. When uncle Green became stricken with Altzheimer's disease, she cared and nurtured him with undying love until the end. Importantly, she was God fearing and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early in her life. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Ordained Deaconess and became an Ordained Minister of the Gospel. Her love and devotion for her family, friends and church were inspiring. Also, Aunt Melba was a family historian who kept the Smith family together by organizing many Family reunions. She touched us all with her love. Aunt Melba is Dearly missed.
