Kenneth E. "Duke" Barnes Sr., 90, of Loyalsock Township, passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at the Loyalsock Creek Rehab and Nursing Center. He was born May 31, 1925, in Williamsport, a son of Charles and Alma Young Barnes.
Duke retired from the former Avco, was a member of its U.A.W. union, and was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army.
He was an avid golfer, was a former member of the White Deer Golf Course, and enjoyed his softball years.
He was predeceased by his parents and eight siblings.
Duke is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Geraldine L. Day; son, Kenneth E. of Canandaigua, N.Y.; brothers, Donald of York, Eugene, Melvin and Marlin all of Loyalsock Township; a sister, Virginia of Montoursville; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at the Montoursville Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming Co.
