John A. Anderson, 91

John Allen Anderson, 91, of Zirconia, died Sunday, January 4, 1998, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Oteen.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County and the son of the late Lawrence Anderson and Hattie Ward Anderson. He was a member of the Henderson County Historical and Genealogical Society. He was an Army veteran, serving three years during World War II with two years in the European Combat Theater. He was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his brother, Ray Anderson of Zirconia; a sister, Ella Vee Beddingfield of Zirconia; four nieces; a nephew; two great-nieces and three great-nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Double Springs Baptist Church. Dr. George A. Jones and Rev. Robert Garren will officiate. Burial will follow in Ward Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by Hedrick-Rhodes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5206, Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service today in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Double Springs Baptist Church, Route 1, Zirconia, N. C. 28790.
