Hastings resident Corrol P. Roach, 70, passed away, April 13, 2016 at Good Samaritan Society Perkins Pavilion, Hastings, NE. Memorial service, April 20, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings, NE. Burial will be at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege, NE. Corrol P. Roach was born October 10, 1945 in Holdrege, Nebraska the son of Vern and Ruth (Porter) Roach. He graduated from Holdrege High School and McCook Community College. Corrol grew up in Holdrege, at the home of his maternal grandparents, Claud C. Porter and Maude E. Silver, surrounded by extended family members of the Sliver and Fink families. The namesake of his maternal grandfather, Corrol was unabashedly proud of his Scottish and mid-western ancestry. Corrol moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1992. Corrol worked at J.M. McDonald, Shopko and Hands Around the World Shop at First Presbyterian Church. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege and Hastings, serving the church as head usher and as an Elder. Corrol also was a member of the Holdrege Council of The United Commercial Travelers, the Kearney Post of Travelers Protective Association and the Police Office's Association of Nebraska. He enjoyed genealogy and local mission work. Corrol is survived by his cousin, Raymond Horton and his wife Jackie Dinan of Brooklyn, NY; along with many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his companion Charles Harry Kelly.
