Ted Roy Atkins Jr., 75, of Granite Shoals, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012. He was born to Ted Roy and Marion Cumbie Atkins on July 4, 1936, in San Angelo, Texas. Mr. Atkins proudly served his country in the United States Air Force retiring as a master sergeant. He worked after his retirement as a broker in real estate sales, as a game warden and as foreman at the YO Ranch in Buda, Texas. In his spare time he enjoyed reading and horsetrading. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by children, Mark (Peggy) Atkins of Austin, Texas, Sandra (Paul) Green of Kingsland, Texas, and Diana Dell (David) Beard of Whitney, Texas; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Margie Campbell of Brownwood, Texas, and Mildred Hart of Athens, Texas; and brother Daniel Pitts of Clearlake, Texas. Mr. Atkins was preceded in death by his parents; wife Nell in 2000; and daughter Sharon Ann Bradt in 2005.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, with Scott Payne officiating with the Highland Lakes Honor Guard. Interment will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012, in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Maxey, Texas. An online guest register may be signed at PutnamCares.com.
