Earl E. Lane, 64, former Kankakee resident, died Friday in Yakima, Wash. after an illness of three weeks. Mr. Lane was a rate clerk for the Illinois Central Railroad in Kankakee who retired and moved to Yakima 12 years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hertz Memorial Temple, with the Rev. Harold Edds officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m., Monday and until time of service Tuesday.
Mr. Lane was born June 2, 1893 in Kewaunee, Wis., the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lane. His mother, Mrs. Ida Lane of Kankakee, survives. His father preceded Mr. Lane in death.
Mr. Lane married Hermine Schroeder Jan. 14, 1915 in Kankakee. She survives. He was a member of the Kankakee Immanuel Baptist Church, the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks.
Also surviving are daughters, Mrs. Blanche Malmer, Mrs. Carol Armstrong, and Mrs. Vivian Zullo, all of Kankakee, Mrs. Dorothy Palmer of Reddick and Mrs. Joanne Goodell of Momence; sisters, Mrs. Ruth Leidecker and Mrs. Fern Wulff, both of Yakima.
