Avak was a Real Estate Appraiser for many years and also worked as a salesman for Woodland Moving & Storage Co., Hartford. He was a long time communicant of St. George Armenian Apostolic Church, Hartford and served as a Deacon at the church since 1967. Besides his wife, Diane, he is survived by his son, Erik Yervant Assadourian of Washington, DC; and his daughter, Kim Marie Bauer and her husband Ken of Savannah, GA; four grandchildren, Korben, Kathryn, Kaitlyn and Kirsten Bauer all of Savannah, GA; two brothers, Sebouh Assadourian and his wife Sandy of Rocky Hill, and Vahan Assadourian and his wife Joyce of Oregon; his sister, Sirarpie Ohanian of Michigan; his father-in-law, Robert A. Chellstorp, Sr. and his wife Mary of Windsor; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eric and Karin Chellstorp and David and Mary Chellstorp all of Wethersfield, and Catherine Carpino of Rocky Hill. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law Jean Marie Chellstorp, brothers-in-law Robert A. Chellstorp, Jr., and Garbis Ohanian, and sister-in-law Elaine Chellstorp Huffman.
