Laura Elvira Terrell was the 5th daughter and 6th child (of 9) of Elijah Martin Terrell (of Mississippi) and Mary Adeline Hosmer (of Concord, MA; later Louisiana).

She married on 10 Jun 1861 in St. Tammany Parish (probably in Covington) Count John Charles Barelli (the Italian Consul to the United States-Louisiana), he being a son of Joseph Albino Barelli, Esq. (1800-1858; of Varenna, Italy) and Sarah Ann Gill (1813-1845; of Charleston, SC).

Laura & John Barelli had six children:
Lucille L., Laura A., John S., Percy S., Augusta H., & Grace Barelli.

Descendants of this couple are still a credit among us today.

(The discrepancy between Laura's birth date and her marker's date is because it is currently believed that the stone was not placed contemporaneously with her death, and the later generation which did so may have relied on information for the dates which were eventually in a book called "HOSMER GENEALOGY BOOK II" by Ronald Sidney Hosmer (1981), where the same dates are given.
New research in the last 5 years has revealed a more contemporaneous source for the 1841 birth date, said source being based on family correspondences and having proved to have been remarkably accurate in the number and exactness of citations in other instances. Census records have also since seemed to verify an 1841-1842 birth date for Laura. In addition, the marker birth date of 6 Jun 1838, if true, would have her birth almost 9 months to the day from her older sister's natal day of 3 Sep 1837, a birth pattern out of sorts with the other 7 siblings date placements)
