Birth: Dec. 26, 1916
Death: Jan. 15, 2006

Al was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He joined the LDS church in 1956 in the San Francisco Bay Area. He didn't move to Utah until he was a senior citizen. He came to live with his son in his declining years and died here. He worked as a credit manager most of his life.

Al said he graduated from high school when he was 15 but he couldn't get a job so he continued to attend high school as a post graduate. He skipped one grade in primary school by skipping 1A and 2A. Then, the school set up was changed when he was in eighth grade and he skipped that grade also. His father saw an ad for government jobs and sent in an application for him. When it came time to take the test, his father gave him a quill pen and some ink and said, "Go in there and knock 'em dead, boy". Two years later, Al started getting job offers. He accepted one and moved to Washington, D.C. when he was eighteen.

Al lived with his mother's parents after his mother died in the Spanish Flu epidemic in 1918:

LEVESQUE, Alston, grandson, age 3 11/12, Louisiana, Mississippi, Louisiana.
LEVESQUE, Gaston, grandson, age 1 ?/12, Louisiana, Mississippi, Louisiana.

Al joined the Marine Reserves in 1936 because they paid him to attend meetings. Then, he switched to the Army because they paid one penny more a week than the Marines.
