He was born July 13, 1903, in Greene County, a son of William Madison and Hettie Odile Baker Filby.
Mr. Filby was a construction worker for a number of years and was a 25-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Washington, PA.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Hettie Baker Filby of Claysville; one sister, Mrs. Evadna Jerson of Washington; three brothers, Ray R. Filby of Dublin, Ohio; John W. Filby of Mather; and Russell A. Filby of Claysville; and several nieces and nephews.
