Ellen August Pratt was born on December 7, 1838 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Her parents were Daniel Emery Pratt (a Boston stabler) and Charlotte Wilson Nims. She married John Anderson (son of Robert Anderson and Margaret Russell of Glasgow, Scotland) on June 16, 1863 at the Mount Vernon Congregational Church in Boston. Reverend Edward Norris Kirk was the officiant. Ellen and John had four children named Charlotte Russell, Robert Emery, Margaret Wilson, and Marion Wharton. The Andersons lived the longest time in Wellesley, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Ellen died at her Wellesley home on November 21, 1896.
