Doran was born on February 2, 1940 in Reydon, Oklahoma to the late, Elzie and Hazel (Atha) McEntire. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Caywood on October 28, 1961 at Reydon, Oklahoma. They moved to Stella, Missouri 34 years ago coming from Amarillo, Texas. He was an oil rig Manager working in the oil fields overseas, traveling all over the world. He enjoyed working with cattle, tractors and gardening. He loved wood crafting and would make beautiful keepsakes for his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pineville, Missouri.
Doran is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Dot) McEntire of the home; eight children, Ray McEntire, Elzie McEntire and wife Debra Jean, Dwain McEntire and wife, Joyce, Lisa McEntire-Hart and husband Clay, David McEntire and wife, Holly, Patricia McEntire, Soraya McEntire-Hitt and husband, Ryan, Karol Ann McEntire; a sister, Cleta McEntire-Wells; 19 grandchildren, Kelsey, Lamanda, Shawna, Dorothy, Kristeena, Matthew, Michael, Justin, Joshua, Brandi, Kimberly, Kristin, Jessica, Destiny, Thomas, Katy, Bekah, Jayce and Halley; 10 great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Doran.
Funeral services for Doran McEntire will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Splitlog Baptist Church in Goodman, Missouri. Brother Pat Jeffers will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the Union Cemetery in Stella, Missouri.
