Donovan Dewey Anderson, of Russell Springs, was killed in a one vehicle truck accident last Wednesday, August 4, 1982, near Gallatin, Tennessee.

Preliminary reports indicated the truck, in which Anderson was a passenger, lost its brakes while traveling down a long incline and could not negotiate a sharp curve at the bttom of the incline. The truck apparently left the road and plunged over an eight to ten foot high embankment, and caught fire. Four others, the driver and three passengers riding in the back of the 2 1/2 ton truck, were injured in the accident.

Anderson was an electrical lineman, a member of the Royville Friendship Church, a member of the Russell Springs Lodge #941, serving as Master in 1966 and 1971, a member of Scottish Rite, Shrine - Oleika Temple, and the D.A.V, J.B. Glover Chapter 51.

He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 18, 1924, and was a son of Dewey and Fronia Frost Anderson.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Anderson, Russell Springs, his wife, Mrs. Juanita Grider Anderson, Russell Springs; one son, Doug Anderson, Russell Springs, two daughters, Mrs. Donna Robertson, Russell Springs, and Miss Christina Anderson, Russell Springs, one grandson, Brett James Robertson, Russell Springs; one brother, Cyrus Anderson, Russell Springs; and one sister, Mrs. Norma Jean Burton, Russell Springs.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 7, 1982, 2:00 p.m., at the Royville Friendship Church, with Bro. Vernon Blakey, Bro., Hubert Wilson, and Bro. Daryl Coe officiating. Special music was presented by Bro. Roger and Janice Popplewell.

Masonic Rites were given by the Russell Springs Lodge #941.

Pallbearers were Ira Rooks, Ronald Smith, Dravo Williams, J.D. Melson, Bocky Bottom, and Joe Brown. Honorary pallbearers were D.A.V., J.B. Glover Chapter 51, Johnnie G. Bernard, Russell Hudson, Jim B. Dunbar, Raymond Holt, and Orvis Burton.

Interment was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
