Gladys Wilhelmina was born at Center August 3, 1907. She taught school in Oliver County for several years. She was married to Harry Anderson on March 15, 1936. They live near Center where Harry farmed. Later in 1936 they moved to Freeport, Texas. Harry was a freelancer shrimp fishermen and later a net maker. Gladys continued to teach. Later they moved to Jones Creek were Gladys taught kindergarten until she retired in 1972. Harry passed away February 25, 1971. They had one son, Marvin, who lives at Jones Creek. Gladys is enjoying retirement and still resides at Jones Creek.

In 1938, she and her husband moved to Freeport. She graduated from the University of Houston with her Master of Education. She taught in the Brazosport Independent School District for 29 years. Kindergarten for 20 years. Arrangements: Freeport Funeral Home. Freeport, TX.
