Chester A. Baker, 53, of Highlands, TX was born December 17, 1953 in Baytown and passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at his home. He was a 1972 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and a member of Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge #321. He retired from ExxonMobil Refinery with 30 years of service, where he served as a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years. He loved fishing, hunting, and riding Harleys.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Baker and is survived by his wife, Sharon Baker of Highlands; daughter, Carol Baker Williams and companion, Timothy Bort of Baytown; mother, Virginia Baker of Highlands; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth A. and Sharon Baker of Village Mills; sister, Barbara Ferguson of Highlands; grandchildren, Paige and Preston Williams and Timothy, Kristen, and Benjamin Bort; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gennie and W. H. Brown and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda and David Carnathan, all of Channelview; and nieces and nephews.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Rendon, Mike Hammock, Gary Sanders, Craig Bigler, and ExxonMobil Fire Team members Harold Broom, Bird Reed, Scott Wilson, Dennis Sanderson, Donnie Huron, Rick Ysassi, Kevin Bryant, Stoney McAlister, Charlie Payne, Al McCawley, David Selensky, and Donnie White.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, February 23, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Bowery officiating. At his request, his body will be cremated afterwards.
